External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Sunday began a visit to Europe on a week-long journey to promote bilateral relations with leaders of France, European Union and Belgium and to confirm India’s policy of zero-tolerance against terrorism.

A month after Jaishankar’s visit to Europe, in response to the Nathing Pahgam terror attack a month after the operation starts in India, he is expected to tell European leaders about New Delhi’s firm approach in dealing with cross -border terrorism.

In the first phase of his visit, Jaishankar will visit France, a country that has emerged as all weather friends of New Delhi.
The Ministry of External Affairs (Mea) Ministry (Mea) said, “Foreign Minister will visit Paris and Marsile, where he will hold bilateral discussions with his equivalent minister with Jean Noel Barot of Europe and Foreign Affairs.”
Jaishankar will also participate in the inaugural edition of the Mediterranean Raisina Dialogue to be held in Marsile city.

In Brussels, Jaishankar will have a strategic dialogue with the European Union’s high representative and vice -president Kaza Kalas.
Mea said, “The India-European Union Strategic Partners have strengthened over the years in various fields and got a major boost with the first visit of the European Union’s College of Commissioners in February this year.”

Jaishankar Think will also attach to the European Commission and the European Parliament to be attached to the think tank and the media.

Celebration offer

In the third and final stages of his journey, the Minister of External Affairs will hold extensive conversations with Belgian leaders.
“India and Belgium shares a very strong economic partnership as well as warm and friendly relations. Today, cooperation between the two countries spreads various domains with business and investment, green energy, technology, pharmaceutical, diamond sector and stronger people,” said MEA.

It said that Jaishankar will organize bilateral counseling with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Belgium Maxim Prevot and will also meet the senior leadership of the country.
