On Saturday, Congress President Mallikrajun Kharge said that the Central Government should fix accountability for the tragic accident of Air India AI -171 on Thursday, while emphasizing that “we should wait” until the details from the black box did not come out before deciding the responsibility.
After meeting the injured persons at Ahmedabad Civil Hospital, Kharge was talking to reporters and said that the Center should pay compensation to the next and injured of the deceased.
Kharge also visited the site of the accident along with senior Congress leaders Shaktishin Gohil and Mukul Wasnik.
Asked who he thinks is responsible for the incident, Kharge said that people should wait for details and analysis from the box behind. Kharge said, “On the spot, it is not right to blame anyone … at a time when people are still unhappy … We will also seek an inquiry on the basis of the conclusions of the black box. I don’t think it is right to blame anyone before,” Kharge said, who is also the leader of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha.
Kharge also paid tribute to the deceased and said that “very big accident” in Ahmedabad “can never be forgotten”. “At such a time of crisis, it does not suit anyone to tell anyone that these things happen. We should support people. Our Congress leaders have been assisting people for the last three to four days,” he said.
