The Madhya Pradesh Police has booked a Congress corporator from Indore following allegations of forced religious transformation and sexual exploitation.
According to the police, Congress corporator Anwar Qadri was booked after a video, alleging two youths that they were paid money to some women to “push” prostitution. The police identified two youths as Sahil and Altaf, claiming that they were arrested on Friday.
Meanwhile, both the alleged victims approached a right -wing organization, police said.
According to Additional DCP Crime Branch Rajesh Dantodia, Qadri was nominated in the FIR on Sunday and raided his residence in Indore, but by then, “he had already run away”.
He said, “After the video of both the accused went viral. We took action and also booked the third accused (Qadri) in a separate cedar. The investigation is going on,” he said.
According to police, Qadri had provoked both people to “convert them and push them into meat trade to marry the alleged victims.
Police claimed that Sahila and Altaf befriended the suspects and raped the victims, offered financial incentives and even tried to threaten to convert them. Officials said that the police is currently investigating call details, mobile videos, photos, messages and bank statement of suspects.

Meanwhile, Congress spokesperson Abhinav Barolia called for an investigation “no matter which party the suspect belongs to”.
“If there are allegations for changing a racket, and if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) constantly talks about it, we should ask why it has spread across the state when the ruling party has been in power for decades,” he said.
