Chhattisgarh Home Minister Vijay Sharma has said that the state government will provide monetary assistance to the surrendered Maoists who were forced to undergo sterilization, if they want to be a test tube baby.
An official said that many people who join India’s banned Communist Party are forced to go through sterilization before getting married.
Sharma responded to a question to the media on the Maoists who surrendered to the Maoists nominated on Friday, Sharma said on Friday, “There is a provision in the rehabilitation policy, where any sister or man (surrendered Maoists) who have come in the mainstream and want to become parents … then help to be a test tube baby.”
He said that the state government is planning to do mass marriages for the surrendered Maoists.
Since the latest anti-anti-opposition operation began in 2024, 1,450 Maoists have surrendered. Since 2024, a total of 415 Maoists were closed by security forces in the state and about 1,400 Maoists were arrested. In addition, 19 security personnel and 22 citizens have been killed during this period during anti -seasonal operations.
