A Division Bench of the Kerala High Court sentenced a person to a recent imprisonment for three days imprisonment and a fine of the court case registered on social media for contempt of contempt and intimate comments against judges for paying a fine of Rs 2,000 in a suo motu contempt of court case registered.
The guilty person, PK Suresh Kumar, a resident of Alangad in Ernakulam district, had formed a series of social media positions about the High Court judges. While the court convicted Kumar on 16 July, a bench of Justice Raja Vijayaraghavan and Jobin Sebastten said they had to face a similar contempt of the court case to make a condemnable statement against a judge, but was discharged after an unconditional forgiveness.
In the proceedings of Suu Motu, launched against Kumar, the court said that the accused had said that judges associated with the bench of the High Court, were working under the influence of Parivar and other external agencies, and decisions were being given to influence such groups.
In another Facebook post, he alleged that a judge of the High Court publicly supported the Sangh Parivar and participated in programs organized by groups that were reported to secure the side from them.
Finding that the accused person intimidated the court with the intention of the Mala Fide, the criminal contempt, the judge said, “The shoulders of the court are widespread enough to overcome some comments, and there can be no dispute on the same.
