Prime Minister Narendra Modi is ready to reach Siwan on Friday in his fourth visit to Pol-Bound Bihar.

There, it is scheduled to flag the first Made-in-India Diesel Locomotive to be exported from the Marhaura railway factory. The locomotive will be exported to the West African Nation Guinea.

During his visit to Siwan, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the foundation stones for several development projects worth a total of Rs 9,145 crore.

However, this highlight will be the achievement of the Mahaurara factory, which he said that there is now a new era of industrial resurrection. The factory, officially known as the Diesel Locomotive Factory, Marhaura, was established in September 2018. It is a joint venture between GE Transport (now part of Wabtec) and Indian Railways.

The recent deal with Guinea titled “Project Como” includes exports of 140 diesel engines, which cost around Rs 3,000 crore.

A railway official said, “This moment marks a historic milestone. For the first time, a manufacturing unit in Bihar is exporting heavy locomotive engines in the global market, which firmly keeps India as a global railway manufacturing hub. ,

In his previous visits to Bihar this year, Prime Minister Modi visited Bhagalpur, Madhubani and Vikramganj (in Rohta). A BJP leader said, “In the election year, PM is traveling to every Bihar region, telling people about the central government’s mega projects for the state. We are expecting more visits to Bihar by PM in the coming months.”
