Three Bangladeshis who escaped from Jharkhand Detention Camp were arrested: Police | Bharat News

Police said three Bangladeshi citizens, including two women who fled from Jai Prakash Narayan Central Jail of Hazribagh, were arrested from various places in Jharkhand and West Bengal within 15 hours.

The information of escape was around 7 am on 9 June.

The prisoners were identified as Reena Khan alias Fina Devi (29) from Dhaka, Nipah Akhtar Khushi (24) from Chatogram and Mohammad Nazmul Gang (22) from Bagarhat district.

Police said they survived the detention ward by removing the thorny wire from the prison boundary wall. The three were held in the Nirodh ward of the Central Jail under allegations related to illegal entry and use of fake documents.

A statement issued by the police said that Reena Khan was shifted from Jamtara Jail to Hazribagh Detention Center on 4 February 2022. Nipah Akhtar Khushi was shifted on 28 September 2024 and the gang was brought to the center on 1 March 2025.

talking to Indian expressJail Superintendent Jitendra Kumar said that a case has been registered regarding the escape.

An internal investigation is being done to investigate violations in prison safety.

A special investigation team was formed to discover the prisoners, and based on the data of monitoring and location, the teams were sent to Giridih in Jamtara and Tisri in Mihjam. Two other teams were also sent to Bangoon and Kolkata in West Bengal.

With local police assistance, in Bangoon, Nipah Akhtar Khushi and Mohammad Nazmul were located and were taken into custody. Based on the information of the Kolkata team, Fina Devi was also arrested from Dhanbad railway station.
