Police said on Friday that in the last six months, 200 people arrested for several people in Jharkhand died and became close to 200 people.
According to data shared by the Jharkhand Police during a press conference, 197 Naxalites were arrested in various campaigns between January and June 2025. Among them were some leaders of various banned groups – including the Communist Party of India (Maoist), Tritia SAMAMAR presentation Committee (TSPC), People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI), Zakdam.
Those arrested include Akraman Ganjhu, a member of a TSPC regional committee, who has a reward of Rs 15 lakh on his head and a prize of Rs 15 lakh from Rannvijay Mahato, CPI (Maoist). There are also many zonal and area commanders in this list, who were active in many districts, Inspector General (Operations) Michael Raj said.
He said, “Maoists have registered attendance in Jharkhand for many years, and the police have been working against them continuously,” he said. “Of the 17 Maoists, more than 10 were killed in the operation conducted in Bokaro alone.”
He said that fifty -five Maoists are currently in the desired list of Jharkhand Police, of which the awards range from Rs 1 crore to Rs 1 lakh. Of these, 80 percent belong to CPI (Maoist), while the rest are from JMP, TSPC, Tritia Prosecution Committee (TPC), and PLFI. The top four Maoists in the list keep a reward of Rs 1 crore every 1 crore, followed by four others with Rs 25 lakh.

He said, “About 10 Maoists have surrendered in the last six months. During this period, security forces confiscated 113 weapons, about 8,500 rounds and 176.5 kg explosive materials,” he said. “Those who are still taking up arms, should come forward and surrender to the government … Our operations against extremism will continue in the coming years.”
