On Monday, it was the day of the ceremony in Burhanpur, Madhya Pradesh, with a 17-year-old local boy Majid Mujahid Hussain, JEE Advanced secured 330 out of 360, securing All-India Rank 3 in 2025.
Majid, who wants to pursue computer science in IIT Bombay and specialize in Artificial Intelligence, was gifted a new motorcycle and a phone gift by his family in recognition of his achievement.
On his preparation for the exam, he said, “I started preparing seriously in class 10 with some self-study. For two years, I really worked hard and focused on continuity.”
His father, Mujahid Hussain, teaches at a university in Jalgo, and his mother, Sakina Mujahid Hussain, is a housewife.
“This is a proud moment for every parent. If you help fulfill your child’s curiosity during your studies, it gives them a strong foundation,” Sakina said.

Majid initially studied at a local school in Burhanpur and later enrolled in a residential school. He also participated in a private coaching institute to prepare for competitive examinations. His daily routine included a 12 -hour study – a strict schedule that he followed for two years.
He credited his teachers, coaching institutes and methods of disciplined study for his success. He said, “I think something new has happened to me from Burhanpur to crack these exams. I hope that my hometown grows in a quota (a coaching hub in Rajasthan) and becomes the next center of competitive examinations,” he said.

To prepare for the exam, Majid said that he avoids distraction, using his iPad to study and limit the use of his phone especially to one hour to talk to family members to talk to family members. To deal with stress, he practiced attention and sometimes took a break.
He said, “I was the help of gadgets like iPads, which I used all day, but never for social media,” he said. “I never thought I would get rank 3. I am very happy.”
Looking forward, Majid said that he wants to become a software engineer and works in the field of artificial intelligence.
On cracking JEE, he said, “There is no shortcut for success. You need two years of focused preparation. If you study for 12 hours with a synchronized plan, you can crack these exams.”
