In the killings of several security personnel and tribal villagers in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh, the twenty -three Maoists allegedly surrendered to the police on Saturday with a collective reward of Rs 1.18 crore.
The Most Eight Eight Mauist of the People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA), 1 to eight staunch Maoists, the armed wing of the Communist Party of India (Maoists), were among those who surrendered.
None of the 23 Maoists surrendered with weapons.
Among those surrenders, members of a divisional committee (DVCM) are identified as Lokesh alias Podiam Bhima, 35. “Since 2007, he has been involved in at least nine cases of attacks, several security personnel died in Bastar area,” said Kiran Chawan, Superintendent of Police, Sukma. At the state level, Dandakarnya is a special zonal committee apex committee, followed by DVCM in every division.
Another Maoist, who surrendered, was identified as 35 -year -old Ramesh alias Kalamu, the guard commander of the top Maoist leader Madadi Hidama. Both have a reward of 8 lakh rupees.
Since 2024, more than 1,450 Maoists have surrendered to the police, after the anti-Naxal operations intensified.

“There are many factors behind the surrender,” Chavan said. “New surrender Naxal policy, Niad Nayenar Yojana, new police camps coming in remote villages, increasing the influence of police, inhuman and directionless ideology of Naxalites and exploitation and atrocities faced by him in the organization, together with discrimination by Telugu cadres, said. Chavan said that the Maoists who did not like the migrants.
Each surrendered Maoist will be given Rs 50,000 as a surrender amount and skill training will be received.

On Friday, 22 Maoists surrendered in Narayanpur by 22 Maoists with a reward of Rs 37.50 lakh, including a DVCM member.
