An association of an association of Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) has decided to catch his ‘Mass Leave’ protest after receiving assurance from Chief Minister Mohan Charan Maji that strong action would be taken against all the criminals involved in the alleged attack of his senior colleague, an official said on Tuesday.
The Odisha Administrative Services Association on Monday called for its members to visit ‘Mass Leave’ in protest against the alleged attack of a senior OAS officer.
According to a statement issued by OAS Association President Jyoti Ranjan Mishra, “CM has assured the association that criminals and criminals may be powerful behind the scenes, although they may be powerful, strictly punished according to the strict provisions of the law.” On Majhi’s appeal, the association decided not to proceed on leave or take any such measures, Mishra said.
“Therefore, in the context of CM’s appeal, a large -scale holiday is not discontinued from July 1, but is postponed by it,” he said.
Police said Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Additional Commissioner Ratnakar Sahu was allegedly dragged from his office and was attacked by a group of miscreants on Monday.
“The police have so far arrested three persons, including a BJP corporator, the Genevan Root, looking for the attack and others.”
The state government held two meetings with representatives of the OAS Association on Monday night, the official said.
“The first meeting was held in the presence of DGP YB Khurania with Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja. Later, another round of meeting was held till midnight, in the presence of Chief Secretary, DGP, Police Commissioner and Advocate General. The meeting was held till midnight.”
